Mark chapman has received his maiden New Zealand Central Contract in place of Martin Guptill, who vacated the spot in November.
Chapman, who has been featured in 27 games for New Zealand so far, since making his debut for the NZC, and also been part of New Zealand’s last two World Cups campaign, will be seen as a big player for the BlackCaps ahead of the ODI World Cup next year.
Born in Hong Kong, Chapman played 21 games for his birth country before playing for the New Zealand side.
The left-handed batter, Chapman has carrying an average over 52 in ODIs, while he maintained a strike-rate over 124 in 41 T20 International games.

Gary Stead, the coach of New Zealand team stated that it was great to see Chapman’s hard work rewarded with a contract.
“We’re delighted to have Mark join the central contract list after being there or thereabouts for a while.
“He’s a fine player and we like the versatility and innovation he brings to his batting. He’s a guy with a lot of talent and we see him being a big part of future Black Caps’ squads.”
The Auckland batter also been selected for the New Zealand’s next month ODI series against India and will most likely to be selected in the T20I series, which will named in the second week of January.
Chapman is a part of New Zealand’s team for the next month’s away ODI series against India and will likely feature in the T20 squad against India.
India tour of New Zealand 2022
This will be New Zealand’s sudden series with India, as both teams met recently in November for the T20I and ODI series. India won the T20I series by 1-0, whereas the BlackCaps won the ODI series by 1-0.
New Zealand team will play a two-match test series and 3-match ODI before coming to India.
Their series with Indian neighbours will start from December 26 and will run till January 14. While their series with India will start from December 18 in Hyderabad, where both teams will play the first ODI of the series.
The second match of the series will take place on January 21 in Raipur and then they will fly to Indore for the third ODI on January 24.
Both teams then lock horns in the T20 series, starting January 27 in Ranchi, followed by January 29 in Lucknow and February 01 in Ahmedabad.
