In the opening match of the ongoing ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup triangular series League 2 in the United States, Nepal was defeated by Oman.
On Friday morning at the Moosa Cricket Ground in Texas, Nepal was defeated by Oman by 13 runs.
Nepal was bowled out for 198 in 49.4 overs after Oman set a 212-run goal. Nepal’s Aarif Sheikh had a half-century inning with 66 runs. In the allocated 50 overs, Oman, who had won the toss and decided to bat first, lost eight wickets and contributed 211 runs.
For Nepal, Karan Kc took the highest number of wickets (5), while the skipper Sandeep Lamichhane bagged 2 wickets and Sompal Kami took 1. With 104 runs, Oman’s Zeeshan Maqsood stayed undefeated. Khawar Ali scored the second-highest for the team by scoring 30 runs. Nepal did not have an amazing performance and the highest record was made Nepal is in sixth place in the standings, with 12 points from 12 games.
With 42 points from 34 games, Oman leads the group. Whereas Nepal has been able to gain only 12 points in the 13 matches which is not a very impressive score hence, they lie down at bottom of the table at the number 6 position. On Saturday, Nepal will face the United States for the second time.
The man of the match yesterday was Zeeshan Maqsood who completed his century and was not out.

On June 14, Nepal will face Oman in the third match, and on June 15, Nepal will face the United States in the fourth match.
