“USA Cricket is aware of certain elements of a complaint filed against the organization by a former contractor. The guy is one of several past USA Cricket contractors whose contracts were recently not extended. “All of the accusations in the complaint are completely untrue and without substance, and USA Cricket rejects them and will vigorously fight against them,” a spokeswoman for USA Cricket told Cricbuzz.
“USA Cricket’s attorneys are now handling the situation. We anticipate the case being dismissed in the near future and will make no further comment at this time,” the spokeswoman stated.
Greaves, a Barbados native, previously served as Team Operations Manager for the Barbados Tridents in the Caribbean Premier League for three seasons from 2016 to 2018. When the Global T20 Canada league began in 2018, he was named Tournament Operations Manager, and he worked in operations for the Rajasthan Royals during the 2019 IPL. Greaves alleges he was hired as an independent contractor by USA Cricket for a four-month trial term as a Cricket Operations Manager beginning in March 2021 at an initial compensation of $5,000 per month and tasked with executing four domestic cricket competitions, according to the complaint.
Greaves alleges that he had a verbal arrangement with then-board CEO Iain Higgins to grant him a full-time job offer if the four domestic events were completed successfully. On the other hand, Greaves was never offered full-time employment and said that the funding that was reportedly set aside for the position was instead repackaged as a raise for a white employee.
