Brendon Barrie McCullum, popularly known as Baz was born in Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand on 27 September 1981. Brendon McCullum was the former right-hand batter who played and captained New Zealand for many years and is currently working as the head coach of the England Test team. During his cricketing years, Baz was known for his hard-hitting ability and was one of the most successful batters that ever played for New Zealand. McCullum was the first New Zealand player to score a triple hundred in tests and to score 2 centuries in T20Is.
Brendon McCullum was also the first player to score a century in the Indian Premier League. McCullum was also the first player and captain to smash a century in his farewell before getting retired on 24 February 2016 from International Cricket. Brendon McCullum was appointed as the head coach for the England Test team in May 2022. Under his leadership, England won the historic series against New Zealand by 3-0 and also defeated India in the 5th rescheduled test and made a record while chasing down the score.

In 2001, Brendon McCullum was picked up in the squad of Under-19 for New Zealand and scored 186 runs in a test against the Under-19 team of South Africa.
In 2006, Brendon McCullum went on to play County Championship and scored 160 runs in the first match for Glamorgan. In 2008, Brendon McCullum played in the State Shield final match for Otago and scored 170 runs.
