India Set To Face Pakistan: Team India and Pakistan are all set to lock horns after a long gap of almost 10 months in international cricket when they face each other in the upcoming Asia Cup 2022.

The fifteenth edition of the Asia Cup will begin on August 27, and as per media reports, the match between India and Pakistan will be played on August 28.

Notably, India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh have already clinched seats in the competition, while nations like the United Arab Emirates, Nepal, Oman, Hong Kong, and others will compete in qualifiers, which are reportedly scheduled to start on August 21.

Team India will start the competition as the defending champions as they outlasted Bangladesh in the 50-over Asia Cup final in 2018.

This time, the Asian Cricket Council has opted to organize the tournament in a 20-over format as part of upcoming T20 World Cup preparations.

India will be eyeing revenge when they face Pakistan as when the last time both met India suffered a dreary 10-wicket defeat against the neighbors in the T20 World Cup 2021.

Who Is Hosting The Asia Cup 2022?

The tournament will take place in Sri Lanka. The event might, however, be held in Bangladesh due to the political and financial issues in Sri Lanka. Nothing is finalized as of now and the ACC will decide on this issue at its meeting later this month.

Nevertheless, Sri Lanka recently hosted two important series involving top teams with great success. Australia’s one-month-long series was finally a couple of days before. While recently the Indian women’s team also played 3-T2OI matches and 3-ODIs on the island.

Both teams’ lineups have not yet been revealed yet. However, you can see the projected Indian and Pakistani teams below.
