T20 World Cup: Road to Final
Big Stage – Big Occasion – Big Performance – Big Win
By defeating New Zealand by seven wickets in the opening semifinal match in Sydney on Wednesday, 9 November, Pakistan secured its place in the 2022 T20 World Cup final.
Pakistan will now face either India or England in the T20 World Cup final, which will take place on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The odds were in their favor thanks to them.
Pakistan achieved a remarkable turnaround after losing their first two matches to India and Zimbabwe, winning the remaining three Super 12 matches to reach the semi-finals after South Africa lost to the Netherlands. Pakistan then beat New Zealand in the semis to reach the final.
T20 World Cup: India vs Pakistan
The game’s last phase saw a greater escalation in the high-stress confrontation. When Kohli displayed class and hit two consecutive sixes against Haris Rauf on the final two balls of the 19th over, India needed 31 runs from the final two balls. Babar gave the ball to Nawaz, who had a difficult day at work since the equation had been reduced to 16 needed off of 6. But Pandya was out after the first ball, and the spinner only allowed three runs in the first three deliveries. But he then committed a grave error. Nawaz threw Kohli a waist-height no-ball, which the batsman hit for a six. After that, the bowler delivered a wide, and India eventually received three byes on the free hit. Eventually, India won the match by 4 wickets.
T20 World Cup: Pakistan vs Zimbabwe
This was likely one of the biggest upsets in the T20 World Cup this year. Following their successful restriction of Zimbabwe to 130/8 in 20 overs, Pakistan’s bowlers had done their job. However, the side’s hitters had a poor run as they regularly dropped wickets, limiting them to 129/8 in 20 overs. Shan Masood demonstrated some tenacity by scoring 44 points off of 38 shots, but his efforts fell short of bringing the team home. Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan by one run.
T20 World Cup: Pakistan vs Netherlands
Pakistan scored quickly and effectively to go back on the board, returning to winning ways while significantly raising their net run rate. In a fantastic collective effort, the bowlers destroyed the Dutch top order, setting up the victory. The Netherlands were limited to just 91/9 as just two batters reached double digits and Bas de Leede was forced to retire hurt after being hit in the face. In response, Mohammad Rizwan was the one who got things going, scoring 49 in a cool-headed pursuit that took just 13.5 overs.
T20 World Cup: Pakistan vs South Africa
The matchup with an improved South Africa ultimately proved to be the deciding factor. Pakistan knew they needed to win to have a chance on the last day, and they succeeded in doing so. After a brilliant cameo from late call-up Mohammad Haris, Pakistan reached 185/9 with the help of Iftikhar Ahmed and Shadab Khan, both of whom scored elegant half-centuries. Shadab stood out because he scored 52 runs in just 22 balls. He then contributed with the ball by dismissing Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram.
Pakistan shredded the Proteas, and Shaheen Afridi was the standout bowler, taking 3/14. Rain curtailed the game, although, given the state it was in prior to the interruption, it only served to lessen South Africa’s setback.
T20 World Cup: Pakistan vs Bangladesh
In big games, big players have enormous influence, and Pakistan’s stars certainly did. The majority of the damage was done by Shaheen Shah Afridi, who destroyed Bangladesh with the bat and prevented the Tigers from scoring a respectable first-innings total.
And Pakistan’s opening pair’s performance in the chase was cool (maybe even slow) and just what the doctor ordered. Ineffective throughout much of the Super 12 stage, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam’s opening stand laid the groundwork for a successful chase and kept Bangladesh’s most dangerous bowlers out of the contest. Although it wasn’t attractive, it worked incredibly well.
T20 World Cup: Pakistan vs New Zealand
The atmosphere among Pakistan’s team has changed, and facing this team when they are on fire is intimidating. They defeated New Zealand in Sydney, with Shaheen Afridi igniting the evening with his stunning first-over dismissal of Finn Allen.
The openers then appeared for the first time as a partnership after a team effort on the field and with the ball kept New Zealand to a very manageable 152/4. The victory was made possible by Babar and Rizwan’s century stand, which marked a welcome return to form for the duo at precisely the right time.
T20 World Cup Finals
After all the drama Pakistan has now successfully qualified for the finals of the T20 WORLD CUP 2022. It will be a crazy clash if India qualifies for the final then the Final would look something like this India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup Final.
