Jasprit Bumrah back in the ODI Squad
Jasprit Bumrah was added to the India ODI team on Tuesday afternoon for the forthcoming three-match series against Sri Lanka by the All-India Senior Selection Committee. Due to a back ailment, Bumrah has been sidelined since September 2022 and was also disqualified from the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.
Bumrah missed the Asia Cup in the UAE in the middle of 2022 because of a similar back problem. During the domestic T20I series against Australia in September, the seamer made a comeback. But was dropped again due to growing injury concerns.

BCCI’s Official Statement
The Board of Cricket Control in India on Tuesday afternoon released a statement on the official website of BCCI stating the comeback of star pacer Jasprit Bumrah.
BCCI quoted saying “The All-India Senior Selection Committee has included pacer Jaspreet Bumrah in India’s ODI squad for the upcoming Mastercard 3-match ODI series against Sri Lanka.”
Then they concluded by saying “Bumrah was out of cricketing action since September 2022 and was also ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup due to a back injury. The pacer has undergone rehabilitation and has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). He will be joining the Team India ODI squad soon.”
Bumrah’s Recent Performance before the Injury
Since September 2022, Bumrah has not participated in any form of cricket. He also missed India’s performance at the T20 World Cup, which was held in Australia in October and November. The pacemaker just made a full recovery from a back issue that held him out for the majority of the year.
