Hobart Hurricanes vs Adelaide Strikers highlights: Hobart Hurricanes climbed up to sixth place from eight after claiming a comprehensive win over Adelaide Strikers at the Bellerive Oval on Monday.
Chasing a near 180-run target, their openers Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott provided them a solid start as both hit half-centuries, while D Arcy Short and Tim David done the remaining work at last and hand their side a comprehensive 7-wicket win over Adelaide Strikers with 16 balls to spare.
Earlier, Chris Lynn played a magnificent knock of 87 off 58 to help his side post 177 on board in 20 overs.

Opted to bat, the Adelaide Strikers lost their first wicket early when Riley Meredith got rid off Henry Hunt during the third over of the match.
But, the in-form Short and Chris Lynn didn’t allow the Hurricanes bowlers to tighten their approach as they both went on to add 72 for the second wicket in the next 50 balls.
Short left the crease after playing a knock of brilliant 38 off 26, Lynn, however stayed strong on one end.
Adam Hose failed to show his magic in this match and got out for just 5. But, a solid 78-run partnership between Lynn and Colin de Grandhomme take Strikers to a good score before de Grandhomme got dismissed by Nathan Ellis.
Lynn after smashing a four off the second ball, tried his best to strike a big hit over the straight boundary but he didn’t get the elevation enough off the slower ball as was caught after playing a stunning knock of 87 in just 58 delivers.
Powered by his innings, Adelaide were able to record 177 on board in 20 overs.

The last placed team before this game, started the chase on a high note and collected 32 off the first three overs.
After looting 8 runs off the first over, they smashed 11 runs of Matthew Shorts’ over, and 13 off Wes Agar’s.
Both Caleb Jewell and Ben McDermott then added another 36 in the next 3, taking Hurricanes total to 68 after first 6 overs.
With 86 on board in just 8, things were looking in control for the Hobart side, the skipper of Strikers provided his team first breakthrough by removing the well-set Jewell for 54.
He scored 54 off just 24 with the help of 4 fours and 4 sixes.
Skipper Matthew Wade then joined McDermott but failed to provide much support and walked back after scoring 9 runs.
McDermott, soon followed his skipper and left the field right after completing his fifty (53 off 33).
D Arcy Short and Tim David then completed the remaining work for their side and hand the Strikers a solid win by 7 wickets.
Both remained not out in the process, with Short recorded (27* off 22), while Tim David shot (27* off 13).
