Asia Cup 2023 Time Table, Asia Cup Schedule 2023: All You Need To Know

The Asia Cup is a white-ball cricket tournament with 50-over and 20-over formats. The tournament began as an international one-day competition. However, prior to the 2016 edition of the competition, it was determined that it will be played in both formats depending on the upcoming ICC world event. Let’s take a closer look at Asia Cup 2023, Asia Cup Schedule, Streaming Details, and Format.

The tournament is being played in a hybrid format this year after Shah indicated last year that India will not be attending the event in Pakistan. The tournament will begin on August 30 with a match between Pakistan and Nepal at Multan, Pakistan. The much-anticipated match between India and Pakistan will take place on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka. India will face Nepal in the other group stage encounter on September 4 at the same venue.

The first edition of the competition was played in the 50-over format in 1984, while the tournament was played in the T20 format for the first time in 2016. So far, the continental championship has been held 15 times.

The number of participating teams determines the Asia Cup schedule and format. When there are less than six competing teams, the competition is normally played in a round-robin format. The final puts the league’s top two clubs against one other.

If six teams enter the competition, they are divided into two groups. The top two teams from each group proceed to the Super 4, where they face off against each other once. The top two teams will then face off in the championship game.

If the outcomes go as expected, India might face Pakistan three times in the Asia Cup. In order for that to happen, India and Pakistan must first qualify for the Super 4 stage. Then, if they win that stage, they will face each other again in the final.

The continental tournament will be attended by India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal.
