India-W Vs Pakistan-W Match Highlights
Opted to bat, Pakistan batters found it difficult to play against the Indian bowlers as they lost their 3 main batters inside the powerplay.
Struggling at 33 for 3 in 6 overs, the skipper Bismah Maroof and Nida Dar steadied their ship by adding 76 runs for the fourth wicket.
Maroof, was playing as defensive as possible, considering a big clash and to maintain their reputation. She played a crucial knock of 32 off 35. The strike-rate was not her side in this innings though, but from the situation she rescued her team was clap worthy.
But, as soon as the skipper walked back, team again faced same scenario, what they witnessed during the initial overs. They lost 2 more wickets in the final 4 overs and failed to cross even the 140-run mark.
Nida Dar was the only saviour for them, as her unbeaten knock of 56 of just 36 helped the side post 137 on board in 20 overs.
All-rounder Deepti Sharma was the pick of the bowler for team India in the game, as she removed 3 Pakistani batters during her spell. Renuka Singh bagged two wickets. While Pooja Vastrakar took a single wicket.
India to chase 138 in 20 overs
Chasing a target of 138, India too faced a dreary start as they lost two of their dependable batters Sabbhineni Meghana and Jemimah Rodrigues’s wickets during the process.
Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana tried to take India home with her class batting, but she made against clever bowler Nashra Sandhu and was caught at log on.
Pooja Vastrakar run-out during the 12th over of the chase further weakened India’s chances.
While the dangerous leg-break bowler Tuba Hassan on the very first ball of the 13th over removed the set Dayalan Hemalatha for 20.
Star with the ball, Deepti Sharma failed to help her side with bat as after smashing three fours, she walked back to the pavilion. The skipper Harmanpreet Kaur failed to rescue the team this time too and was out after scoring just 12.
The wicketkeeper batter Richa Ghosh tried to help India cross the line by hitting three sixes, but it wasn’t enough as the women in blue were bundled out for 124 in 19.4 overs and lost the game by 13 runs.
