Mohammad Rizwan to undergo MRI scan
After suffering an injury during Sunday’s Asia Cup 2022 play against India, Mohammad Rizwan was taken to the hospital for a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.
Rizwan was injured while keeping wicket when he stumbled and fell clumsily on his right leg during Indian batting.
Even though he wasn’t completely fit to bat, the star player played a game-winning innings against the rivals. He scored 71. He got out during the later stages of the high-voltage game, but his sensible knock in a 180-plus run chase helped Pakistan cross the finish line with five wickets still in hand on the second-to-last delivery.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stated that Rizwan will now undergo an MRI scan as a precaution to ascertain the severity of his injury.
Notably, Pakistan is already struggling with fitness concerns, and that the absence of pacers Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim, and Shahnawaz Dahani from the competition has had a significant impact on the team’s chances of claiming the title.
Furthermore, the men in green lacks a backup wicketkeeper, and every Pakistani cricket fan wants him to be well before Pakistan’s upcoming match against Afghanistan on September 7.
He is an essential part of Pakistan’s batting line-up and has scored 192 runs in three games so far in the 2022 Asia Cup.
IND Vs PAK match result
Talking about the match, it was Pakistan, who claimed victory to open their account first among the rivals in the super-4 stage of Asia Cup 2022.
In the second of potentially three Asia Cup matchups between the men in blue and green, Pakistan pulled off an incredible comeback to defeat India. India scored a respectable 181 for 7 thanks to Virat Kohli‘s 60 off 44 balls and Fakhar Zaman’s two last misfields.
First half of Pakistan’s chase was spent mostly on the back foot as India dismissed Captain Babar Azam and Fakhar before they could do much harm. But with a 73-run partnership in just 41 balls, Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Rizwan turned the tide of the match.
Following Arshdeep Singh‘s dolly drop, Asif Ali came dangerously close to taking Pakistan home. With just three balls remaining and Pakistan still needing two runs to win, Arshdeep managed to get him out. Pakistan then made a strong run and scored two runs on the following delivery in order to win the match by five wickets.
