Tim Ambrose, the Warwickshire wicketkeeper, announced that he will retire from professional cricket by the end of the 2020 season. Ambrose, who will turn 38 in December, has played more than 500 competitive games over the course of his career, including 11 tests and six limited internationals for England. Born in New South Wales, Ambrose’s British passport opened the road to county cricket, which he took as a 17-year-old when he joined Sussex.
