On Day 4 of the fourth Test, Australia’s Steve Smith completed 7,500 runs in red-ball cricket. Smith reached the landmark in just 139th Test innings breaking the record of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag. The aforementioned Indians reach the feat in their 144th innings. Former West Indian player Garfield Sobers (147 innings) and legendary Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara (147 innings) are also part of the cream group. Apart from Tendulkar and Sehwag, Smith also bettered the record of Indian ace Rahul Dravid (148th innings), who was the 6th quickest batsman to reach the 7,500 runs mark.
