During the match against Kings XI Punjab on Thursday (September 24) in Dubai, Virat Kohli, the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, was fined for maintaining a slow over-rate. Kohli opted to field first, operating at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium with three fast bowlers in Dale Steyn, Umesh Yadav and Navdeep Saini. An hour and 51 minutes lasted for the first innings. This was RCB’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences. Kohli was fined INR 12 lakh as a result.
