West Indies coach Phil Simmons said Test captain Jason Holder was “still in consideration” for the shortest format despite not being part of the T20I squad for the New Zealand tour. Holder was the captain of West Indies in all formats until Kieron Pollard took over the white-ball captaincy last September. But despite impressive results in the CPL and the ongoing IPL, Holder has not featured in a T20I since December 2019, reinforcing his case for a return to the national side.
