England batsman Zak Crawley acknowledges that it is “frustrating” to avoid playing for poor light but also says there are real “life-changing” implications if a player or umpire gets struck by the ball in dark conditions. Given the criticism, Crawley said that, despite the possible risks of going on in bad light, he appreciated the problem of the Umpires. “I was in deep square on Friday when a few balls were hit out and I didn’t even see them at all,” he said.
