Owing to his controversial comments regarding his cricket career Danish Kaneria has been in the spotlight for months. He incurred a life ban in 2012 for a spot-fixing fee and was on a campaign to get it lifted. In the past, Kaneria has spoken out several times against the Pakistan Cricket Board for not allowing him to play cricket despite giving other cricketers reduced suspensions on a similar charge. Kaneria had previously alleged that he was discriminated against by other players in the Pakistan team because of his ethnicity. He is just the second Hindu cricketer after Anil Dalpat to play for Pakistan.
