BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has assured all state associations that domestic cricket will begin as and when the situation is safe in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, but has not specified the date of the start of the season. Normally, the domestic season begins in August, but the pandemic has disrupted the calendar, and Ganguly ‘s letter to state associations on Thursday made it clear that the Board has yet to lock the date. The domestic season is now scheduled to begin with the Syed Musthaq Ali T20 tournament, tentatively beginning in the third week of November.
