Test Series Between India And New Zealand
The two-match Test series between India and New Zealand is going on and it is the first Test that India is playing in New Zealand since 2014. And for India, it is a tough task on their hand as they are trying to secure their first rank in the ICC Test championship.
India won all the matches of the Test series in 2019 and Kane Williamson knows the extent of the challenge that his team will face.
Kane Williamson Spoke About The Challenges
In the pre-match conference, New Zealand skipper spoke about the challenges that his team has to face while playing against India. He feels that India brings high-level competition to them. He also praised Virat Kohli and said that the India skipper is one of the best players across all three formats.
There are also top-class players in the Indian team thus the Black Caps team is focussing on all the elements. “India has quality batsman and also world-class fast bowlers. So, we can’t concentrate on a single player and this brings our team back to focus on the approach of the teams”. He added.
Mutual Respect Of The Skippers
Both the skippers have been showing out mutual respect for each other while leading up the series.
In some of his previous interviews, Virat also praised Kane Williamson for his good captaincy and amazing form.
He said that, that captaining is not always fixed on results. It is also about how to keep the team together and encourage the teammates to play well. And he thinks the Kiwi skipper has done that very well.
But this Test series is going to be so intense that one can imagine. While India will try to keep its spot constant in the Test championship points table, the New Zealand team will be looking forward to recovering themselves after the shocking defeat of 0-3 at the hands of Australia last month.
