Shikhar Dhawan injured
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced new players for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Prithvi Shaw is going to replace Shikhar Dhawan in the ODI squad.
Shikhar Dhawan had injured himself during the third and final ODI against Australia. He injured his left shoulder while diving near the 30-yards circle to save runs.
An MRI of his left shoulder was conducted and the doctor confirmed that Dhawan had a grade 2 injury in his acromioclavicular joint.
His hand will be supported by the sling for some days and the doctors have also advised him to take rest.
In the first week of February, the player will start his active rehabilitation management at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Prithvi Shaw and Sanju Samson as Dhawan’s replacement
This is the first call-up for Prithvi Shaw to the Indian team line-up after he got suspended for 8 months for a doping violation during the 2018-19 domestic season. Prithvi Shaw has been included in the senior national squad for the first time since his ban while Sanju Samson has been named as the replacement for Shikhar Dhawan in the T20I squad.
