India is the only team, who win all the four league matches and concluded the league stage as the Group A toppers. The hosts Australia lost the tournament opener match against India and qualified as the second team from Group A.
From Group B, South Africa and England won three matches and get qualified for the semi-finals. By winning only one match, West Indies ended at the third position in Group B, who were the runners-up in the previous tournament.

1st Semi-final, India vs England
In the first semi-final, the top-ranked team of Group A was scheduled to play against the second-ranked team of Group B. That’s why, in the first knockout match of Women’s T20 World Cup, India will play against England.
In the Tri-Nation series which went before the World Cup, both India and England had won the one-one match in the two matches that both the teams contest against one another.
2nd Semi-final, Australia vs South Africa
The second-ranked team of Group A was scheduled to play against the top-ranked team of Group B. So, Australia will play against South Africa in the second knockout match on 5th March.
In the 2016 T20 World Cup match held in India, Australia defeated South Africa by 6 wickets.
