The talented Indian all-rounder Vijay Shankar traveled to the World Cup 2019 along with Team India. In addition, he had a dream debut in the mega-event, though at its very first delivery he succeeded in taking his very first wicket. The 29-year-old opened up in an interview about the same and how he managed to get an impressive performance out of Pakistan in the flagship game.
Based on his excellent performances in domestic cricket, the 29-year-old had his International debut back in 2018. The selectors then chose him at the 2019 World Cup team. The national selectors were well established to have to face strong criticism of Shankar favored over Ambati Rayudu. But the all-rounder born Tamil Nadu proved his worth in the debut of his World Cup match, and in his 5.2 overs, he posted 2 out of 22 economic bowling figures.

Shankar said in an interview that everything happened suddenly in the match against Pakistan. According to him, usually, the captain tells the bowler before he delivered to bowl. But that isn’t the case often. It added that Bhuvneshwar Kumar had injured between the over, and Kohli called him to finish it.
The 29-year-old all-arounder seamer said that when he got the responsibility to complete it, he had only concentrated to bowl in the right areas.
