South Africa was successful in beating Team India by 4 runs in the 3rd and final ODI at the Newlands. But during the final phase of the game, Indian bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar has almost sealed a victory for Team India.
India was chasing a target of 288 runs – when they were at 223-7 all the regular batsmen have been departed to the dugout and it was all down to the tailenders. That’s where Deepak Chahar has stepped up and made an excellent partnership of 55 runs with Bumrah.
From the non-striker’s end Bunrah has stood solid and supported with 12 runs, meanwhile, Chahar has made his half-century (54 in 34 balls) – Which includes 5 boundaries and 2 sixes.
Unfortunately, tailenders couldn’t finish the job for the side because the in-form batsmen Chahar was dismissed by the South African bowlers, and with this, the Proteas has registered a 4 run victory over the tourers.
Despite being on the losing side – Deepak Chahar has received a lot of appreciation for his heroic knock and he was also seen as emotional, tears were rolling out from his eyes after the defeat.
All the former Indian cricketers and fans have shown him support on Twitter.
Here are a few Twitter Reactions:
By watching his knock in the 3rd ODI, fans were reminded of his incredible batting display during the Sri Lanka tour last year. In that particular match, India was chasing a total of 278 and they were in deep trouble at 193-7. However, with the help of Chahar’s unbeaten 84 partnership with Bhuvi – India has won the match.
In that partnership, Bhuvi has provided support from the non-striker’s end with 19 runs and Chahar has remained unbeaten at 69 in 84 balls, which includes 1 six and 7 boundaries.
