South Africa defeated Sri Lanka by 4 wickets and 1 ball to remain, David Miller’s brilliant knock of 23* from 13 deliveries. With an aim of 143 to win, the South Africans lost both of their opening games, with the scoreboard displaying 26.

Rassie van der Dussen and captain Temba Bavuma put up a 23-run third-wicket partnership. Van der Dussen, on the other hand, was run out with a score of 49 on the South African card.

Aiden Markram and Temba Bavuma then put up a quiet 47-run partnership for the fourth wicket to preserve South Africa in the competition. Wanindu Hasaranga dismissed Markram off the final ball of the 15th over.

Wanindu Hasaranga’s 18th over caused friction in the South African side. Hasaranga initially eliminated Temba Bavuma before dismissing Dwaine Pretorius off the following delivery.

This brought Hasaranga’s hat trick to a conclusion. Dushmantha Chameera also took a handful of wickets for Sri Lanka. David Miller, on the other hand, retained his calm to assist South Africa cross the finish line.

Pathum Nissanka was the primary contributor to the SL team’s score of 142 in their allocated 20 overs. At the top of the lineup, the right-hander smashed 72 off 58 balls, and his innings included 6 fours and 3 sixes.

Charith Asalanka, in addition to Nissanka, achieved a 14-ball 21. All of Sri Lanka’s other batsmen made a pitiful show. Aside from Nissanka and Asalanka, no other Sri Lankan batsman scored more than 20 runs. Furthermore, eight Sri Lankan batters failed to reach double figures.

Tabraiz Shamsi and Dwaine Pretorius were standouts for the SA with the ball. Shamsi and Pretorius both took three wickets to put the Sri Lankans dominating.
