Prithvi Shaw is currently among India’s finest young batting talents. However, since making his Test debut in 2018, the young Mumbai batsman hasn’t got proper opportunities. He made his debut by a century and became the second-youngest centurion in Indian cricket history. But then he got injured as he failed a doping test and faced a ban.
During this time, Shaw had revealed that he had received the support of former Indian batsman and his childhood idol, Sachin Tendulkar. The latter also recently acknowledged having spoken to Prithvi Shaw several times over the years. Sachin praised Shaw calling him a very talented player, while also claiming to have helped the youngster tackle issues on and off the field.
“Yes, this is true. Over the years, I’ve had several interactions with Prithvi. He’s a very talented player, and I’m happy to help him out. I talked to him about cricket and also about life beyond the cricket field, “he said.
Sachin Tendulkar keeps the chat confidential
After asking what the talks were all about, Sachin Tendulkar said confidentially. He said that he would not disclose the conversation between himself and the junior player because it was essential to keep it confidential. He said that if Shaw was going to reveal it was his choice, he wouldn’t have any problems with it.
“If a young person comes in contact with me and asks for guidance, there must be an element of privacy, at least from my side. So, I don’t want to tell you what the conversation is. Never mind. If Prithvi wants to talk about it, that’s his choice,” said the 47-year-old.
Sachin Tendulkar also said he was always ready to guide a young man about the game. Interestingly, he also mentioned that he was talking to a lot of people and guiding them separately. “I have spoken and led many young people on a personal level. “If anyone thinks I can do anything to guide them about their game, I’m always ready for that,” Master Blaster said.
