Despite opting to bat first, the Melbourne Renegades set a reasonable target 152, for the Perth Scorchers. Renegades lost 8-wickets swiftly as they couldn’t find enough room between the wickets to forge crucial partnerships, as a consequence they lost wickets at frequent intervals, Mackenzie Harvey 45 off 40 and Sam Harper 32 off 25 were the only batsmen who took the initiative to bear the responsibility on their shoulders. No other batters were able to establish enough consistency to post a challenging score for the table toppers.
