The Australian fast bowler, Pat Cummins lately donated $50,000 to PM cares fund to help India fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Cummins also hopes to bring joy to the people of India, who are grappling their way through the pandemic.
The second wave of the pandemic has shown some crazy spikes in a number of cases. Recently, about three lakh instances are being recorded every day. The individuals having a shortage of hospital beds and oxygen cylinders.
In a statement on his official Twitter handle, he made the announcement and urged other top players to do the same as the country battles a deadly second wave of the pandemic recording more than 2,000 daily deaths for the past few days. “As players, we are privileged to have the platform that allows us to reach millions of people that we can use for good. With that in mind, I have made a contribution to the PM CARES Fund, specifically to purchase oxygen supplies for India’s hospitals,” he stated.

Pat Cummins who’s currently playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has now revealed the reasons for making the donations to the PM-Cares Fund, an initiative by Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“I was just chatting to a couple of guys here at KKR, they have been really generous in their donations to the PM CARES fund over the last year or so. Shah Rukh donated himself here that suggests the way to go,” Cummins was quoted as saying to WION’s Executive Editor Palki Sharma Upadhyay.
Cummins Mentioned people in Australia are keen to help
“There are a few people back home in Australia who are keen to help India so we might set up something in the next few days to direct a few more resources to charity here,” he said.
“I don’t think so. We are doing everything we don’t take any resources from the frontline. There is an aspect that us playing for three or four hours hopefully contributes to making people stay at home. It has certainly been a big topic of conversation as to how we can help,” he added.
Cummins is presently the main wicket-taker for KKR with 9 wickets from seven games. He additionally scored unbeaten 66 in opposition to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Mumbai and almost took his side in winning ways.
