Team India’s white-ball vice-captain and batting stalwart Rohit Sharma, has no idea what happened during the 5th Test versus England in Manchester the previous month, but he is certain that his squad “won” the difficult series 2-1.
Following Team India’s junior physio Yogesh Parmar came back positive for COVID-19 and was discovered in close touch with players, the 5th Test in Manchester was called off. This came when it was discovered that certain key officials of the Indian staff members were also afflicted.

In July 2022, the BCCI has decided to host the 5th Test match. The president of the BCCI, Sourav Ganguly has stated that it will be a continuation of this year’s series rather than a one-off match, as England desires.
“I don’t know what’s happening with the last Test match. Whether we are playing a one-off Test (next year) but in my mind, we have won the series 2-1,” Rohit said during a promotional campaign ‘Impossible Is Nothing’.
When questioned if the England series, in which he scored over 400 runs in 4 matches, was a turning point for him, he said: “It was a good one considering where I was standing in my Test career.”

But quickly as possible T20 captain, however, hesitated to declare the series his finest. “It’s not my best series. I feel my best is yet to come. I utilized the time before the World Test Championship final in Southampton (to figure) what sort of technique and mindset is required. I was pretty happy and would like to take it further.”
Rohit is a strong supporter of the ‘Save the Rhinos’ movement as well as a plastic-free, sustainable world. He talked about his previous experiences.
“It was in 2014 when I went to Kenya and was really sad knowing about the condition of rhinos. India and Africa are two places where we have the maximum rhino population”.
“I often thought that why don’t I carry my cause on to the field,” Rohit said about the company’s specifically made cricket shoes, which feature a rhino protection message.
