Indian skipper Virat Kohli will fly off from Australia after leading his team in the first Test of the 4-test series. He has been granted a paternity leave by BCCI, following the news of the scheduled birth of his first child. That said, several cricket fans are already doomed by the news.
Though India have a commendable squad at this point, Virat Kohli is still one of its strongest pillars. Thus, his absence might affect the squad in variant ways. However, Indian coach Ravi Shastri doesn’t see it as a problem. Instead, he has applauded Virat Kohli for making the right decision of being with his family amid such time.
Meanwhile, the news has garnered mixed emotions from the cricketing fanbase with many billing it as a problem for the Indian team. But Ravi Shastri claims that these moments are rare in life and Kohli shouldn’t miss it.

Speaking with ESPN, Shastri said, “I think it’s the right decision he’s taking. These moments don’t come time and time again. He has the opportunity, he’s going back, and I think he’ll be happier for that.”
While Kohli is ready to depart for India after the first test, Shastri also claims to “miss him” throughout the series. No wonder he is one of the biggest prodigies India has right now.
Expressing his emotions, Shastri added, “If you see where India have gone in the last five-six years, there’s no doubt in absolutely anyone’s mind that he’s the driving force and the man behind it (India’s success). So he obviously would be missed. But like I say, in adversity comes opportunity. There are lot of young guys in the side and it’s an opportunity for them,”
