After testing positive for Covid-19, Australian bowling legend Shane Warne has spoken out about his situation. Warne suffered a ‘thumping’ headache, as well as sweats and shivering.
For a few days, the 52-year-old also stated he lost his sense of smell and taste. Despite being double-vaccinated, Australia’s most productive Test bowler contracted with COVID.
“The first couple of days, when I tested positive, I just had a thumping headache and I had one day where I had the shivers, but (was) sweating, like when you have the flu.“
“I lost a bit of sense of taste for a few days, but after three or four days I was fine. I have apparently got the holy grail. I have been double vaccinated and I have had COVID, so I am meant to be absolutely fine now,” said Shane Warne.
We can get back to some sort of normality: Shane Warne
Shane Warne also said that after contracting Covid-19, he was placed on a ventilator. The Australian cricket great, on the other hand, claims that he is well currently and could even run. To return to normal, Warne finished by recommending that everyone to be vaccinated.
“I was on a ventilator but it was not an emergency ventilator. I have been fine, I have been able to run, I have been able to do everything. It is everyone’s choice to get vaccinated or not, but to me, it is pretty simple. Get vaccinated has to be the message to everyone so we can get back to some sort of normality,” concluded Shane Warne.
Shane Warne enjoyed impressive results with the ball in hand throughout the course of a decade-and-a-half professional career. In 145 Tests and 194 One-Day Internationals, the leg spinner represented Australia. Warne notched up 293 wickets in the ODI aspect of the game, compared to 708 wickets in the whites. In January 2007, Warne performed his last international match for Australia.
