Pakistani cricketer Kamran Akmal is ready to pay all the fines which are imposed on his brother Umar Akmal. Umar Akmal was banned by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after he found guilty in a match-fixing scandal back in April 2020. The PCB have fined Umar a fine of 4.25 million if he wishes to get rid of all his charges.

The Pakistani cricketer appealed to lower the fine which was later rejected by PCB. Nevertheless, Kamran has stepped up to pull his brother out of the turmoil now. He has asked the PCB to lift the ban from Umar as he ready to compensate the fine for his brother.
“I am willing to pay the fine for my brother. I request the PCB they can deduct the amount from any payments due to me for my PSL matches. The money should not be such a big issue. They can deduct from my fees and even Umar (Akmal) whenever he plays his money will also come through the PCB only,” said Kamran Akmal as quoted by Sportskeeda.
PCB earlier reduced Umar’s ban to 12 months but have asked him to pay the full amount of the fine at once. However, Kamran has requested the PCB to show some leniency towards his brother. “I request the PCB to show some leniency and Umar is ready to pay the fine,” he added.
Umar Akmal made his international debut in 2009 and went on to represent his country in 16 Tests, 121 ODIs, and 84 T20Is where he scored a total of 1003, 3194, and 1690 runs respectively.
