In the current BBL season, the Perth Scorchers and Sydney Sixers were the top teams. Both sides are bringing up their best efforts in order to win the BBL title. The Scorchers got off to a slow start in their innings, failing to generate enough acceleration to establish a wicket-to-wicket partnership. With their formidable bowling lineup, the Sixers were in command.
Christian made the first breakthrough for Sixers upon picking Kurtis Patterson 27 (25) and 2nd upon bagging Laurie Evans for a golden duck. Hayden Kerr joined Christian to lead the squad from the front, after scooping up Colin Munro 27(36), Ashton Turner 2(4), and Ashton Agar 29(20) wickets. Aaron Hardie 45 (24) quickfire managed to put up a good challenge for the Sixers.
