David Miller has shared the guidance he got from the legendary South African batsman Hashim Amla. According to Miller, a player is only as good as the previous game that he has performed. Miller also said that Amla informed him that a player should also reset his clock and attempt to stay in the present. Here is what David Miller Speaks About Hashim Amla.
“The famous old saying is that you are only as good as your last game, but Hashim always said to me (you’re only as good as) your next game. It’s about resetting the clock and the mind, and trying to control and really be in the present,” said Miller.

David Miller also mentioned that he had the honour of playing with Hashim Amla for many years and that the South African icon taught him that failure should not be a source of worry. Miller continued by saying that a player should aim for consistency both on and off the field.
“I had the privilege to play with him for many, many years and I suppose what I have learnt from him is to not let failure get you down. We are striving for consistency in performance and, off the field, trying to be a consistent person as well,” said Miller.
Miller also stated that he admires Hashim Amla’s cool demeanour and that the 38-year-old has been the South African team’s deadly attacker. Miller ended by saying that he is in contact with Amla and would continue to seek guidance from the expert throughout the T20 World Cup 2021.
“That’s what I have really enjoyed about Hashim and his influence, being nice and calm, being a pillar of strength; the silent assassin. He was about getting the job done but more so, being nice and consistent as a person. It has been a good journey with him and I still keep in touch with him and will continue to do that during this World Cup for any advice,” concluded Miller.
