After the Chennai Super Kings thrashing of Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday, skipper MS Dhoni praised fans for their commitment and urged them to remain humble. Dhoni stated that the supporters took care of everything, both the good and bad results.
I would ask CSK fans to be humble always: MS Dhoni
“Well to the fans. They have been great right from the start. We do not need to utter a lot when it comes to good or bad performances, they have taken care of it and I can proudly say on the behalf of CSK that we are very proud of the fans we have got. But since this is a stage… I would ask them to be humble always because that is what the team does and I feel as a fan of the team they also need to do the same and you need to respect each and everyone’s view,” Dhoni to fans after the win.
Chennai stormed into the IPL playoffs in Sharjah on Thursday with a comfortable win over Hyderabad, maintaining their amazing efficiency this season. After Dhoni chose to bowl first on a sluggish surface, the bowlers, headed by Josh Hazlewood (3/24) & Dwayne Bravo (2/17), limited SRH to 134 for 7.
In defending the score, Ruturaj Gaikwad (45 off 38) with Faf du Plessis (41 off 36) had a brilliant 75-run partnership to provide CSK the perfect start. The hunt was made exciting by a collapse in the middle overs before Chennai won in 19.4 overs, with Dhoni (14 off 11 not out) smashing the clinching 6 which remembers his golden days. The 3-time league champions then finished the game on 139 for 4, let them towards an appropriate six-wicket victory.
