Controversy has surrounded the ongoing 3rd Test match between South Africa and India at the Newlands, Cape Town. Indian skipper Virat Kohli was seen fuming at the stump mic and has expressed his frustration over the DRS decision given by the 3rd umpire.
It was during the 21st over of the 2nd innings, where the South African Left-handed batsmen Dean Elgar was given out for LBW – bowler Ashwin was pretty much confident about it and appealed for it and the on-field umpire has given it out. But the batsmen was not sure about it and asked for a review.
Here comes the moment – According to the hawk-eye, the ball was projected right above the stumps & and the on-field was asked to take back his decision. And this is the point where all the Indian players seemed fuming.
Skipper Virat Kohli went to the stump mic and said – “Focus on your team as well when they shine the ball.. and not just the opposition, trying to catch people all the time.”
Even KL Rahul has said – “Whole country playing against XI guys,” KL Rahul could be heard saying.
Even the bowler Ravichandran Ashwin didn’t hold back either and has taken a dig at the broadcaster.
Emotions were running high after that decision and with the same intensity, Bumrah has picked Elgar’s wicket.
According to a few cricket experts – “An unusual bounce in spinner’s delivery is something suspicious. There will be questions which will be asked to the technical team because looking at that unusual bounce and that too for a spinner like Ashwin is not something which we see.”
