Asia Cup 2023 Squads

With less than a month till the eagerly anticipated Asia Cup, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was the first to reveal their team. Let us look at Asia Cup 2023 Squads in detail.  

As expected, Babar Azam will serve as the team’s captain as Pakistan prepares for the important Asia Cup competition. Shan Masood, who has performed well recently, is the only significant absence that caught everyone by surprise.  

The team’s openers are Abdullah Shaqfique, Fakhar Zaman, and Imam-ul-Haq. Mohammad Haris has been added as Mohammad Rizwan’s backup wicketkeeper. Shadab Khan will spearhead the attack in the spin-bowling category, along with Mohammad Nawaz and Usama Mir, 

The Pakistani team will arrive in Hambantota, Sri Lanka, on August 18. Before their departure on August 17, some of the players will undergo a camp at the National Cricket Academy in Karachi. The camps will take place on August 14, 15, and 16.  

Bangladesh became the second nation to announce their Asia Cup 2023 squad on Saturday.

The BCCI announced the Indian squad on August 21. The Indian squad will feature the veterans Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah alongside other players.

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, who missed plenty of the action in 2023 are back in the squad for the marquee event.

Fans are anxious to see the squad for co-host Sri Lanka. While the squads for Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Nepal will be announced soon.  

The match between Pakistan and Nepal will kick off the tournament in Multan, Pakistan, on August 30/

The much-anticipated India-Pakistan match will take place on September 2 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.  

Pakistan will host three group stage matches as well as one Super Four occasion. The remainder of the event will be held in Sri Lanka. The final will be held on September 17 in Colombo.  

The Super Four stage will be played in 2023, with the top two teams from each group qualifying. All teams will face each other once in the Super Four stage. The final will include the top two teams from the Super Four stage.
