MVP Under 1 Crore in IPL 2023
The spirit of the team is lifted when an unknown player sets the stage on fire. It proves to be an act of inspiration for others to follow. There have been many examples in the IPL where a player hitherto unknown has gone on to make a name for himself. Let us look at MVP Under 1 Crore in IPL 2023 in detail.
The likes of Swapnil Asnodkar, Paul Valthaty, and Kamran Khan became household names owing to their exploits. There are plenty of players in IPL 2023 in the under INR 1 crore category of players who could set the season alight.
We look at 8 such MVP under 1 crore in IPL 2023:
#8 Bhanuka Rajapaksa – 50 lacs
He had a terrific 2022. Bhanuka Rajapaksa impressed in whatever limited chances he got at Punjab last season. He played a blinder in the Asia Cup final to help Sri Lanka win the title. Rajapaksa’s biggest strength is his ability to get going right from ball one. He is a tremendous buy at just INR 50 lacs.
#7 Mukesh Choudhary – 20 lacs
There wasn’t much to write about CSK’s seam bowling last year. Mukesh Choudhary was a standout in that regard. He made the new ball talk. In the absence of Deepak Chahar, Choudhary quickly became the leader of the pace attack. His salary of INR 20 lacs now appears a brilliant bargain.
#6 Rinku Singh – 55 lacs
He has forever been on the fringes of selection for KKR. Rinku Singh finally came into his own last season in the role of a finisher. He singlehandedly won a tricky game against RR. Singh almost pulled off a spectacular run chase against LSG. He is every penny worth INR 55 lacs.
#5 Dwaine Pretorius – 50 lacs
He is possibly the only bowler with death overs credentials in the whole CSK squad. Dwaine Pretorius showcased his skills in what was a forgettable campaign for the side. He is someone who could strike big at death. CSK made a valued purchase in signing him for just INR 50 lacs.

#4 Rajat Patidar – 20 lacs
RCB’s campaign appeared to be going off track until Rajat Patidar arrived. The diminutive right-hander provided a fresh lease of life to the side. He became the first uncapped batsman to score a century in the playoffs. RCB has a star in making and that they managed to pull it off for just INR 20 lacs makes it an unbelievable deal.
#3 Sikandar Raza – 50 lacs
He too had a fantastic 2022. Sikandar Raza powered Zimbabwe charted many upsets this year. He is an able finisher who is a mighty fine mystery spinner too. Raza finally landed an IPL contract this season when Punjab bought him for just INR 50 lacs.
#2 Mahesh Theekshana – 70 lacs
He has been a fine addition to CSK. Mahesh Theekshana is one spinner who can bowl across different phases of the game. MS Dhoni can use him to bowl an over in the powerplay and later make him bowl at the death. Theekshana has often choked batsmen with his lengths in the end overs. CSK signing him for just INR 70 lacs is a mighty steal.
#1 Mohsin Khan – 20 lacs
There were very few who knew about the ability of Mohsin Khan at the start of IPL 2022. But there were even fewer who didn’t know about him at the end of the season. Such was Mohsin Khan’s impact that top batters from the opposition too looked to negate his spell. He is a tremendous bargain at just INR 20 lacs.
