LSG vs PBKS 1st Innings Update
The contest between Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings is on and it is the Kings who have won the toss and elected to bowl first. Lucknow, trying to build a good total have scored 153 runs for 8 wickets in the first innings. They have given a target of 154 for Punjab to chase.
During the death overs, even after losing 7 wickets, Chameera and Mohsin showed some courage and hit 35 runs in the last 3 overs utilizing the death over pressure on bowlers. They managed to hit more boundaries
In the last five overs, Lucknow Super Giants managed to score 44 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. The highest partnership of the innings was between Quinton de Kock and Deepak Hooda who contributed 85 runs to the innings. The way this partnership was going, we expected it to be a high-scoring game but credit to Punjab bowlers that they took back-to-back wickets and stopped the blue team from going big. There was a time when Lucknow had scored 12 runs in 15 balls and lost 4 wickets.
Arshdeep Singh bowled the 17th over of the game and was successful in restricting the batters, giving away just 7 runs. No wickets came in this over. A total of 14 runs and a wicket came off the 18th over of the innings bowled by Rahul Chahar.
The 19th over of the innings was bowled by Rabada who got hit for 2 consecutive sixes on the first two balls of the over but went on to take a wicket in the third and no runs after that. A total of 12 runs came off this over. The 20th over of the innings was bowled by Arshdeep Singh and it was an impressive one. LSG batters only manage to hit a single four to ensure 9 runs came off the over.
The run rate at the end of 20th over is 7.65. Quinton de Kock scored the highest number of 46 runs by hitting 2 sixes and 4 fours at a strike rate of 124.32.
