Zimbabwe cricketer Ryan Burl requested sponsorships for his national team by posting a photo of his worn-out shoes to highlight the plight of his country’s cricket. Ryan Burl had revealed that he had to glue his pair of shoes after every series. Burl’s Tweet soon became the talk of the town as fans and followers of the game extended their support by retweeting.

Sportswear Giant Responds To batsman Ryan Burl’s Tweet After Posting Worn Out Shoes

 

Burl’s plea worked as sportswear giant Puma promised him sponsorship. “Any chance we can get a sponsor so we don’t have to glue our shoes back after every series,” Burl asked in a tweet at a time when some of the cricket boards are earning millions from sponsorships alone. Responding to Burl’s tweet, Puma Cricket wrote on the social media platform, “Time to put the glue away, I got you covered.”

Recently Ryan burl tweeted that, “I am so proud to announce that I’ll be joining the @pumacricket team. This is all due to the help and support from the fans over the last 24 hours. I couldn’t be more grateful to you all. Thanks so much @PUMA”.

The sportswear brand has vowed to sponsor the Zimbabwe cricketer after his post of worn-out shoes went viral on social media. Indian cricketer and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) superstar Harbhajan Singh lauded the sports gear brand for their incredible gesture.  

Harbhajan, who enjoys a massive fan following across all social media platforms took to Twitter and praised Puma Cricket for offering a helping hand to Zimbabwe international. “Always there for the players @pumacricket well done,” Harbhajan said in his tweet. Harbhajan’s response has come after Puma Cricket publicly announced to help Zimbabwe’s Burl.

Burl, a batting all-rounder for the African minnows has played as many as 46 internationals for the Zimbabwe cricket team. All-rounder has taken 26 wickets and 638 runs in those 46 matches.
