Zaheer Khan confirms De Kock’s availibility
In De Kock’s absence, Chris Lynn made his debut for MI and scored a well-made 49 and it would be a good selection headache for the team management to have ahead of their second match.
“De Kock has completed his quarantine and also had a net session yesterday. He is available for selection for tomorrow’s match,” Zaheer Khan said during a virtual press conference.
While De Kock had joined the MI Paltan days before the start of the tournament, he wasn’t available for selection in the first match owing to mandatory quarantine requirements.
Quinton De Kock had a very fruitful IPL season in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last year and played a crucial role in Mumbai winning the title. The left-hander scored 503 runs in the 13th edition of the IPL and scored his runs at an average of 35.92 and at a strike rate of 140.50.

Chris Lynn jokingly admitted to the fact that his first match for the defending champions could turn out to be his last in IPL 2021.
“Look, obviously I was a bit nervous, no doubt about it. (It was my) first game for Mumbai and it was the first time I was batting with Rohit as well. It happens in the game of cricket as well.
“I thought there was a run, and then obviously there wasn’t a run. But yeah, if I had been able to run past him and sacrifice my wicket, I definitely would have done that, but it wasn’t the case.”
Mumbai Indians will face Kolkata Knight Riders on April 13th at Chennai. Mumbai Indians will hope to get their first win of the tournament.
