Royal Challengers Bangalore Captain Virat Kohli Was All Praises For Delhi Capitals:
Royal Challengers Bangalore after losing to Delhi Capitals by 59 runs at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium tonight, RCB captain Virat Kohli was all praise for DC. During the post-match presentation ceremony, Kohli acknowledged that in IPL 2020, the Shreyas Iyer-led side was “hard to beat.”
The DC [Delhi Capitals] are playing some very good cricket. Fearless is their batting. They have pace, they have good spinners, they have good pace. I’m not going to suggest that they’re unsurpassable, but they’re going to be hard to beat. You have to bring your A game with you against this side. Tonight, we didn’t, “Kohli said.
Virat Kohli was asked about where Bangalore lost the track, particularly after making a brief comeback in the first innings, highlighting his fielders dropping catches and the team as a whole, failing to execute plans in the death overs.
“Our way, it didn’t go. They got off to a great start. We pulled them back in the next eight, but the last chase got away from us. We need to, as I said, take important risks. It’s not like we’re dropping half the odds, just sitting back. The execution at the end was not spot on again,’ added Kohli.
Virat Kohli Hints At Chris Morris Playing In CSK vs RCB Match:
With three wins and a few defeats in five games, RCB is in third place in the points table. Kohli did not regard chasing as their weakest link in IPL 2020, placing emphasis on more professionalism.
The positive thing is that three out of five [matches] have been won by us. We know that we play fine cricket. In those big moments, we just need to be professional. Getting one major relationship was the discussion around chasing. If you have eight wickets in hand in the last 10[overs], with dew settling in, the game is on even if you need 100 or more, ”Kohli further added.
Though Royal Challengers missed spinner Adam Zampa ‘s services due to an illness tonight, Kohli talked about the opportunity for all-rounder Chris Morris to field in their next October 10 match against Chennai Super Kings. It is worth noting that the 33-year-old player had all this while recovering from an injury.
Chris [Morris] was very close to playing today, but he didn’t make it to the rally. We’ve got four days until the next game, so hopefully he’ll be ready,’ said Kohli.
Morris, who played for Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals in the past, was bought by Bangalore at this year’s auction for a whopping INR 10 crore. Although he can be a like-for-like substitute for Chris Morris, depending on the rest of their combination, Royal Challengers could also play him for some other player.
