West Indies on Thursday announced their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming series against India. Kieron Pollard will lead the team in both the ODIs and T20Is series. West Indies have named a strong squad in both the formats as they continue their preparations for the World T20 in Australia next year. Along With Pollard, Sherfane Rutherford and Test captain Jason Holder comprise the all-rounders’ department in T20Is.
The team has come up with solid batting line-up in the shortest format of the game with the names like Evin Lewis, Shimron Hetmyer, Lendl Simmons, Pollard and Nicholas Pooran in the star-studded line-up. Sheldon Cottrell will take over the bowling attack along with the names like of Holder, Keemo Paul and Kesrick Williams.
The three-match T20I series will get started from December 06 with the first match scheduled to be played in Hyderabad. The second match will be played in Thiruvananthapuram on December 8 followed by the final game in Mumbai on December 11. The T20I series will be followed by a three-match ODI series starting from 15 December.

He said that the team management is looking forward to giving every player a chance against India to test them against strong opposition. “We have three matches in each format, so we wanted to give each squad a chance to compete against India. No disrespect to Afghanistan, but facing India will be a more difficult series, especially in the ODI. Our players really got the hang of thing with the 3-0 series win and I believe we will move from strength to strength,” Simmons said.
