Even though it is called the Indian Premier League, there is no denying the fact that at times it is the overseas stars in a particular lineup which light up not just a single game but the entire tournament in general.
Teams have long yearned to have high performing star foreign players in their team but owing to team combinations and permutations, they aren’t always able to do that.
If we have a glance at all teams and their overseas players, it is quite difficult to look beyond Rajasthan Royals. On paper, they boast of having the best 4 foreign players (Jos Buttler, Steve Smith, Ben Stokes, and Jofra Archer) on their side who could single-handedly change the course of the game.
But apart from Archer, none of them have consistently performed for the Royals and that is the reason why they find themselves at the bottom of the table.
There are many teams like RCB (Finch not firing), MI (Nathan Coulternile experiment is not working), and KXIP (they are constantly changing their 4th overseas player) were at least 3 of their players are firing in unison if not for all 4.
This brings us to the team of the season, Delhi Capitals. Their 4 overseas players (Marcus Stoinis, Shimron Hetymer, Kagiso Rabada, and Anrich Nortje) have been doing their roles brilliantly and are delivering what is being expected of them. This is why we feel that DC at this point in time in this IPL has the 4 best foreign players.
