The Virat Kohli-led Indian team put up a fantastic performance at The Oval on 06 September, defeating England by 157 runs to secure an unbeatable 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series. The game was an interesting match, with all 3 outcomes seeming conceivable on the final day. Team India’s bowlers, on the other hand, once more shined for the side and proved their skills. Jasprit Bumrah, the commander of India’s pace bowling lineup, spoke about the team’s victory and strategies. Here is Bumrah On Winning Eng vs Ind 4th Test.
In the 4th Test match, Jasprit Bumrah was among the creators of Team India’s success. The speedster stepped himself into the situation and gave the side key breakthroughs. He coordinated India’s comeback by taking the wickets of Ollie Pope and Jonny Bairstow. The current success, according to Bumrah, is due to their optimistic attitude.
“We focus on the good things. We want to focus on controllable things and we as a team are a bunch of individuals who are very happy and fun-loving people, not always trying to find needles in all the things,” Bumrah said.
I am not thinking too far ahead about the IPL or World Cup: Bumrah
In the post-lunch session on the 4th Test match’s last day, Bumrah turned the balance in India’s favour with 2 crucial wickets. Bumrah stated that the team was committed to battle till the last point. The pacer also expressed the belief that the team’s objective was to bowl in the appropriate areas and put more pressure on the opposite side.
“In Test cricket, nothing is easy. Even though it was a very good wicket, you have to bowl in the right areas and that’s the message you want to communicate. We had decided, even if the wicket is on the flatter side, we have to create pressure for the longest time. We created a lot of pressure in the first hour and we realized that it was a flat wicket and but our job was to not let the game slip away and we are happy to do that,” Bumrah added.
The IPL and the T20 World Cup are coming soon. Bumrah is an influential player of both his IPL franchise and India’s national squad. Many expectations will be placed on him to assist the teams in making an impression at the competitions. The Indian speedster, on the other hand, is not planning forward and prefers to focus on the present.
“I am not thinking too far ahead about the IPL or World Cup because then mentally you can be tired. My focus is on the present, concentrating ball by ball and get results in our favour,” Bumrah said.
