Former bowler Ajit Agarkar believes Virat Kohli’s performance in recent outings is a reason for worry for Team India. Since November 2019, the aggressive batsman hasn’t scored an international century, and the cricket world is excitedly awaiting his restoration. Even though the 33-year-old has contributed with significant blows on occasions, he has not been at his best. Ajit Agarkar spoke regarding Virat Kohli’s form stating that At the moment Virat Kohli isn’t at his best.
The legendary batsman has departed as India’s skipper in all forms. It is yet to be seen whether Kohli the hitter can launch his A-game now that the captaincy load has been removed from his shoulders. In response to the situation, Agarkar stated that if the experienced batsman returns to form sooner than expected, it will be beneficial to the squad.
“Virat Kohli’s Form” Is A Concern:
At the moment Virat Kohli isn’t at his best: Agarkar
“At the end of the day you’re only successful as successful your team is and if you don’t win, it eventually doesn’t matter how great a player you are out on the field, it’s not enjoyable playing in the team,” said Agarkar.
“We talk about different combinations before – Virat Kohli would be a key factor because of the kind of player that he is but at the moment he isn’t at his best, which is a fact and the quicker he discovers his form it’s going to be that much easier for Rohit Sharma to then manage that thing because of what he can do on his own, Virat Kohli,” he added.
Kohli’s upcoming task is a home series versus the West Indies, which begins on February 6. Three One-Day Internationals will be backed by the same number of Twenty-20 Internationals, and the experienced batsman desires his bat to talk. Agarkar is hoping for the same outcome. “Virat Kohli’s form is a concern, but we all know what a player he is. So, hopefully, he discovers his form sooner rather than later,” he added.
However, speculations of a conflict between Kohli and Rohit have been circulating for some time. Despite the fact that Kohli has often filled the space, few supporters and analysts feel there is a gap between the duo. Kohli’s first challenge under Rohit Sharma will be the forthcoming series. As a result, many will be eager to watch both in action.
