KL Rahul’s Evolution
KL Rahul has improved his batting over the years. In recent times, he has made a position at the top, leading him to perform very well.
His averages are 47.86 in ODI and 45.50 in T20 in the last 12 months, which is more than his career average.
Virat Kohli, the captain of Team India, suggested that in the upcoming T20Is also KL Rahul would keep wickets. It has given the team the possibility of playing an extra batsman in the eleven.
Virat Kohli Praises Rahul
Rahul was the wicket-keeper in the two ODIs against Australia. Virat Kohli said, “Rahul is doing really well with wicket-keeping and has opened up another kind of scene for us.”
“It gives more balance to the team in terms of playing an extra batsman if he performs wicket-keeping well. It is amazing to see that Rahul is open to accept any kind of role. He is a total team man as he is ready to do whatever the team wants,” Kohli added.
He also said, “Rahul is always on the search for opportunity and looking to play well every time. I think he has engaged him in the game perfectly. It’s amazing to have a player in the team who can do both things well and bring balance to the team.”
Kohli’s Decision To Continue With KL Rahul
In the second ODI match against Australia, Rahul kept wickets and also scored a brilliant 80 off 52 balls. He was sent in at 5th position in the series.
Due to Shikhar Dhawan’s injury, he will be opening in the T20Is in New Zealand.
He was also involved in five dismissals as a wicket-keeper. Apart from that, since he has batting decently at the top, Kohli has decided to carry-on with Rahul as keeper and batsman for some more time to come.
