Tom Moody reveals how Mumbai proposed a trade for Rashid Khan
The Afghanistan-based leg-spinner played a crucial role in SRH’s quest to reach the Dream11 IPL 2020 playoffs of the tournament. Rashid Khan took 20 wickets in 16 matches with an exceptional economy rate of 5.37. His best spell came up against Delhi capitals where he picked 3 big wickets while conceding only 7 runs in 4 overs.

However, their campaign was brought to end by Delhi capitals in Qualifier 2. Recently, former Hyderabad coach Tom Moody revealed how Mumbai Indians proposed a trade for Rashid khan. Tom Moody, in an interview with ESPNcricinfo, recollected the incident which happened almost 2 years ago which describes how Mumbai Indians want the best players in their campsite.

“I remember an incident from maybe two years ago when they asked for a trade of Rashid khan. They are the only franchise who have had the gumption or the bravado to knock on the door and ask for a trade of Rashid” said Tom Moody. Moody also explained how other franchises miss out on intensity and confidence when it comes to trading players. “A lot of teams run a lot leaner than Mumbai Indians. The support staff at SRH is actually half of what MI’s is” added Moody.

Mumbai Indians getting an addition of Rashid Khan in the bowling lineup would have been a nightmare for the opposition team with bowlers like Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult already being on the team sheet. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians successfully defended their IPL title, beating Delhi capitals by five wickets on Tuesday in Dubai for their 5th IPL title. Correspondingly, they also became the second IPL team to defend their title with only Chennai Super Kings doing it before in 2011.
