The T20 World Cup is slated to begin on October 17 with group matches in the UAE. On October 24, India will begin their adventure in the main event with a clash facing main competitor Pakistan. Similarly, former Indian cricketer, Gautam Gambhir stated that India is currently considered superior to Pakistan. Here is why Pakistan is under lot of pressure in T20 World Cup.
Why Pakistan Is Under Lot Of Pressure In T20 World Cup
Considering India’s present strength, Babar Azam and his team will be under pressure when they face Virat Kohli’s side. Although, Gambhir swiftly added that no team will be forgotten or ignored in the high-profile competition, adding that even underdogs like Afghanistan may cause major upsets.
Gambhir Said that – “Expectations are going to be really high from Pakistan as well, and at the moment, if you see, India is far more superior to Pakistan. Yes, in a T20 format, anyone can beat anyone because it is a very individual kind of format, and we should not take any team for granted”.

“For example, you should not take Afghanistan for granted. People like Rashid Khan can create upsets. It’s the same with Pakistan. But, yes, there will be pressure on Pakistan,” said Gambhir in an Interaction.
In terms of groupings, India is in Group 2 with Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, and 2 qualifiers. on the other side, includes England, West Indies, South Africa, and Australia. Gambhir stated why group one is the ultimate grouping of the hunt since all 4 members are equal.
“Group 1 is the group of death, and that’s actually the real group. You’ve got four teams locked in and playing what, on day one of the T20 World Cup, that’s going to be a very exciting Saturday,” added Gambhir.
The West Indies are the existing champions, and it will be interesting to watch if they can keep their championship or if another team takes the championship title.
