Andrew Flintoff and Amitabh Bachchan were involved in social media banter during the 2016 T20 World Cup. After Virat Kohli’s brilliant match-winning knock against Australia propelling India in the semi-final. Post that, Flintoff took a sly dig at the Indian talisman tweeting ‘at this rate, Kohli will be as good as Root one day’.

Amitabh Bachchan, an ardent Indian cricket team fan couldn’t stand the disrespect to India’s premier batsman. The legendary Bollywood actor replied to Flintoff asking who is Joe Root and that India would ‘uproot’ Root.

He quoted Bachchan’s tweet writing, “With the greatest respect, this aged well.”

India were looking like to loose the match but India went onto scoring 337 runs, all thanks to Rishabh Pant, Cheteshwar Pujara and Washington Sundar.
