Tatenda Taibu’s Hope To Coach In IPL Or Ranji
Tatenda Taibu is the former skipper of Zimbabwe, who appeared in 150 ODIs, 28 Tests, and 16 T20Is between the year 2001 to 2012 for the African nation and his love for India is well known to everyone.
The wicketkeeper-batsman has repeatedly shown his love towards the country and Asia again and again. And now he is in the hope of getting a chance to coach one of the Indian Premier League team or an Indian Ranji team in the coming days.
Missing Out Sri Lanka’s Opportunity
Taibu said that he had recently applied for the fielding coach position in the Sri Lanka national team. And he was shortlisted in the final three but missed the opportunity closely.
He also added that he is quite confident about his inclusion as a coach will be valuable for the team and he would love to guide one of the IPL or Ranji Trophy teams.
He praised Indian cricket saying that in the present period, this is the team that can dominate the world of cricket.
IPL Developed The Indian Cricket
The former Zimbabwe skipper feels that the arrival of IPL has developed the game of Indian cricket in various aspects. And it has played a key role in transforming it, despite Indian cricket always had the talent.
Taibu was the youngest Test captain in cricket history until the record was broken by Rashid Khan. He was the first player from Zimbabwe who was featured in the cash-rich league after Kolkata Knight Riders bought him for US$125000 in the initial season.
But due to the presence of Brendon McCullum, he got a chance in the starting eleven in just three games, before being eventually released ahead of the 2009 auction. And now after 12 years, he dreams to coach an IPL team one day.
